- 2Optionally say who it is for and pick a tone: mixed, funny, sarcastic or straight.
- 3Get 10 hooks across different styles, 3 captions and 12 hashtags.
- 4Copy what you like, or turn the hooks into finished reels with Appzoku.
What makes a good hook for an app video
A hook is the on-screen text and first second of a short video. People decide to stay or scroll almost immediately, so it has to do three things at once: signal who it is for, promise something specific, and create a reason to keep watching.
For apps, the hooks that work are rarely about features. They are about a moment the viewer recognises ("POV: you finally know where your money went") or a result they want ("I stopped guessing my pace").
The ten hook styles in this tool
POV puts the viewer inside a moment. Expectation vs reality works for anything that is harder than it looks. Hot take invites argument, which means comments. Question names a problem the viewer has. Story opens a small narrative. Proof / result leads with an outcome. Meme or sarcasm earns a laugh and a share. Before/after shows the change. Curiosity gap withholds the payoff. Comparison sets you against the old way.
Mixing styles matters. Posting ten videos with the same hook structure teaches the algorithm and your audience nothing new; trying several styles shows you which one your audience responds to.
How to use the output
Pick two or three hooks that sound like you and post them as simple videos: a screen recording of the app with the hook as on-screen text. Check which gets the most watch time, then write more like that one. The captions and hashtags are written to go with them.
If you want finished videos instead of just text, Appzoku generates the whole reel for your app: hook, timed captions, footage and caption, in many styles.

Frequently asked questions
Are these hooks safe to use as they are?
They are written for your app from what you describe, but always read them. Cut anything that claims something your app doesn't do.
Does it work for TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Hooks and captions work across all three short-video platforms.
Why does it ask for a tone?
A funny or sarcastic hook and a straight, credible one perform differently depending on your audience. Mixed gives you both to test.
How many hooks should I post?
Try at least five different ones before judging. One video proves very little.
Can it write hooks for apps that aren't on iOS?
Yes. It only uses the description you type, so it works for any app or product.
