A one-hour weekly content plan for indie iOS developers

A repeatable 60-minute weekly routine for solo developers and small teams: what to review, what to make, and how to schedule a week of posts.

By Appzoku ·

Consistency beats volume. Three short videos a week for two months teach you more about your audience than a month of daily posting that you abandon. The trick is a routine small enough to survive a busy sprint. This is a one-hour version.

The 60-minute routine

  1. 1Minutes 0 to 10: review. Open Instagram insights. Note the two posts with the most saves and shares last week and the one that did worst. You are looking for a pattern, not a verdict.
  2. 2Minutes 10 to 35: write the batch. Make five pieces: one reel idea, one carousel about the app, two posts for your audience (a quote or tip, and a relatable one) and one flexible slot for a release, review or milestone.
  3. 3Minutes 35 to 50: polish. Read every headline aloud. Cut anything you would not say to a friend. Check the app screens are current.
  4. 4Minutes 50 to 60: schedule or queue. Put dates on the five pieces. Post at times your audience is active, but consistency matters more than the exact hour.

A simple weekly mix

  • Monday: a carousel about one benefit of the app.
  • Wednesday: a reel (a demo, a before and after, a relatable moment).
  • Friday: a quote, tip or relatable post for your audience.
  • Flex slot: a "what's new" post when you ship, a real review as an image, or a milestone.

Two of those three fixed posts are about your audience's world, not your app. That is deliberate: they are the ones people save and follow for.

Keep a running list of ideas

Keep a note with three headings: user questions, annoying moments in your niche, and things you shipped. Every support email, review and bug fix is a post waiting to be written. Our list of 35 post ideas helps when the list runs dry.

Once a month: look back

Spend 20 extra minutes comparing the month's posts by saves, shares, profile visits and link taps. Double down on the formats and topics that did best. Drop the format that took the longest and performed the worst.

Letting a tool carry some of the load

Appzoku includes a weekly plan on the dashboard, Remix Studio for reels and Post Studio for carousels and images. Writing a pack of posts takes a minute and you edit from there. Reels can be scheduled to Instagram on the Pro and Studio plans, so the schedule step takes a few clicks. The routine above works without any tool; with one, the writing block gets much shorter because you start from a draft instead of a blank page.

How much time should an indie developer spend on social media?

One focused hour a week is enough to run a consistent Instagram account. Batching the writing in one sitting matters more than the total time.

What is the best day to post for an app?

Use your own insights. Start with spaced-out days (for example Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and move toward the times your followers are active.

Should I post every day?

Not at first. Three posts a week you can sustain for months beats daily posting you abandon in weeks.
